Pump it up

As most of you know, last April I decided to leave the workforce.  After almost 22 years in Corporate America, I decided to give this whole "stay at home mom" thing a try.  Yea, I have tried it before but with about half the kiddos!

So here I go ~  the first couple of months, I looked at everything as a new challenge and couldn't wait to prove to myself I could do this!  Laundry, dishes, driving the kids to and from school and sporting events, homework, laundry, cook dinners (mind you, I've only cooked once in my entire life), clean the house, more laundry, volunteer at the school and did I mention laundry?  Seriously, I'm ok with the kids wearing the same outfit for days at a time.  It wouldn't hurt my feelings.  Then it hit me.... my life is like that movie Ground Hog day.  Remember it?  With Billy Murray?  I loved WATCHING this movie but living it was another story!

The next couple of months, well I get a little more relaxed.  I'm ok with the maid coming in twice a month.   I mean after all, running the kids around is hard work!  Then I had to work in a few social lunch hours.  I still have to have friends, right?  Next thing I know, I'm taking a nap in the middle of the day and shopping like I'm some rich diva!  What have I become??  I need a challenge, a hobby, anything at this point.

My first challenge ~ I took up crafting.  It helped me stay focus for a few minutes here and there but I needed something more challenging.  How about working out?  I could stand to lose a few pounds anyway.  What the heck, I took the plunge and called my friend and awesome personal trainer.  Away I go.  Working out like I have a deadline to meet on a report or something.  After about 8 weeks, I start to see some muscles including something that resembled a butt.  True story, I sat down on the couch and thought it was a stuffed animal.  Turned out it was my butt!  haha

Now I'm 18 weeks into this work out.  I've added in the healthy life style of eating.  I'm pretty pumped about my results so far and can't wait to see more.  I decided to take some before pictures. (don't worry, I will spare you the horrific pictures)  Harlee saw me in my bikini taking these pictures.  She disappeared and came back in this......

My next challenge??? Well, I MAY enter a NPC Competition.  May is the key word here.  Lots of work to do.  Don't worry, I'm not looking for this:

But more like this:

Let me end with this, go out and set a goal.  Really challenge yourself.  You will be amazed at how it will put some excitement back into your life!

Have a great weekend!
