Divan?????

Does anyone know what a divan is?? Well, I thought it was common knowledge until one of my "northern" friends asked what the heck a divan is!!! Seriously?? Well I did a little research on the internet and from what I gathered, I do believe it is a Southern term. Anyway, I grew up with my grandparents calling the couch a divan!

The day I met Jason's grandfather was the day I fell in love with his crushed orange velvet DIVAN! Sadly, his grandfather passed and his family was kind enough to ask me if I wanted the divan. Of course, I was honored to accept this family heirloom that had been with the Mackies for over 50 years!!!

As most of you know, I have had this in my garage for well over a year or so! I wanted to build out a play room in 60's decor. Well, I haven't gotten there just yet but in the mean time I found a wonderful home! We are totally digging it! I have a few more pieces to put with it outdoors but here is a sneak peek!
